💙 NOVEMBER – DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH 💙

November is a time to raise awareness of diabetes, a condition that affects how the body regulates blood glucose (sugar).

There are different types of diabetes, with Type 1 and Type 2 being the most common. Both can affect the body’s ability to control blood sugar levels, but they develop for different reasons.

Why is awareness important?

Recognising the signs and symptoms of diabetes can help people seek advice and receive an earlier diagnosis.

Some common symptoms include:
• Feeling unusually thirsty
• Needing to urinate more frequently
• Feeling very tired
• Losing weight without trying
• Blurred vision

Diabetes can be managed with the right treatment, support and lifestyle adjustments. Early diagnosis is important in helping to reduce the risk of complications.

💙 If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, please contact your GP practice for advice.

Let’s help spread awareness and encourage people to look after their health.
